Today I gathered my whole crew of about two hundred into the great hall. I stood behind a podium am spoke into the microphone.

“Imagine a planet in a far away solar system, where its orbit is so different that in the summer all the water on the planet is evaporated into thick clouds in the sky, and in the winter the whole planet is flooded. We have sources telling us that there is life on this planet; our mission is to travel to the planet and see how this life survives. Here at Gilbert's travels it is our duty to explore the universe, known and unknown; space, inner and outer; and delve into the farthest reaches of the cosmos. We travel into deep space; and study everything we find. We are Gilberts Travels, the future of intelligence. Now let’s get to work!”

Every one cheered for about a minute and then went off to their stations. The ship pulled off from the space station and took off. We are now on our way to Planet T3 of the Tee solar system. I will update tomorrow.

Over the past week I have been meeting my new crew and taking them aboard the ship. I would ride with them on the sky elevator, which is just a rocket that goes up to the space station where my ship is and back down. Today I met Dan Martin, my head navigator and first mate. As we rode the sky elevator we had a conversation about his education, he knew where all the planets in all the solar systems were in the galaxy. He’s a smart kid. Next week on Monday we ship off. I will update that night.

My Name is Gilbert Alvarez. I am 35 years old and have been a captain for five years. I was the captain of a freighter for four and a half of those years. My crew delivered bulk to colonies all over the galaxy. I was replaced by another captain so that I can start a business of my own, Gilberts Travels. I want to organize a crew so that we can travel to uncharted areas of space, mark them on a map and study everything there is to be studied about these areas.

There is a business called ‘Work Destinations,’ they help employers find the employees they need and vice versa. I gave them a list of positions I need filled. Some of these positions include: navigators, doctors, scientists, mechanics, custodians, language translators and many other jobs one would need taking a spacecraft around the galaxy. I’m waiting for there call telling me my crew is ready.

With the money I made piloting the freighter I am able to lease a ship. The ship is one mile long, an 8th a mile wide and high. I’m naming her ‘The Explorer.’ She is currently docked at the space station USA orbiting the earth. She is being prepped to go by a crew of mechanics.

I will update when everything is ready to go.
